The latest ARF DASH TV Universe Study underscores a significant shift in how people stream: Connected Media Devices (CMDs) like sticks and pucks are on a steady decline with the number of Smart TVs having one of these devices attached reduced by 31% year over year. As households increasingly rely on built-in Smart TV operating systems, CMD usage is declining across the board. Apple TV devices (-39%), Google Chromecast (-25%), Amazon Fire TV (-29%) and Roku devices (-30%) all saw notable drops year-over-year.
