Let us observe a moment of silence to remember one of the darkest moments in our country’s history. Today, we remember the Americans we lost on 9/11, the heroes who ran into danger; and hold close to those loved ones who continue to suffer. We will #NeverForget

Sanctuary Hospice was truly honored to perform a Veteran Pinning Ceremony for Leonard Belmonte at Lutheran Home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Leonard's children—Edward (pictured), Andrew, and Anne—are incredibly proud of their father’s service in the U.S. Army. Leonard served as a First Lieutenant, spending two years stationed at Fort Richardson, an Army base near Anchorage, Alaska. The base covers over 25,000 acres, much of its untouched Alaskan wilderness, characterized by steep peaks, lakes, glaciers, and rivers. Winter temperatures at Fort Richardson range from 80°F to as low as -40°F. Leonard commented that he got to see lots of caribou in the very cold below zero temperatures. His son, Edward, kindly shared with us that the last name, Belmonte, translates to “beautiful mountain” in Italian, so it seemed only fitting that Leonard was based in such a lovely place for his military service. After the ceremony, Leonard shared his impressive musical talents with our team by playing his wife’s (Rosemary) piano. We love being a part of sweet moments like these. Thank you for your service to our country! #WeHonorVeterans #ArmyStrong #SanctuaryHospice #OurCareFamily

We added excitement to a back-to-school gathering organized by our Community Liaison Linda. Our Cincinnati team delighted attendees with a petting zoo and gathered essential school supplies for the community schools. These adorable animals, featuring goats, ducks, and chickens, were brought directly from the farm of our own Program Director Mandy. Known for their sweet nature, these animals stole the show at the event with their charm and cuteness. #BackToSchool #PettingZoo #OurCareFamily #SupportOurCommunity

It's September, and that means it's #ProstateCancerAwarenessMonth. Shockingly, the projected numbers for this year show approximately 299,010 new cases of prostate cancer and 35,250 deaths. Let's use this month to educate and raise awareness among men and their loved ones about the effects of prostate cancer. Help spread the word by sharing this post with someone important to you—because awareness is key in combating this disease. For more information on prostate cancer, visit: https://lnkd.in/eZt5SFSn

Labor Day is a time to pay tribute to all our American workers. We thank our workers for the contributions and achievement each one of you have made over the years. Hard work is more than just a job. Harvey Mackay says it best if you “find something you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” We hope you have found a career that you look forward to working in each day. Happy Labor Day!
