Cooperative Spotlight: Formed in the late 1930s and chartered on December 14, 1939, Santee Electric Cooperative emerged through the dedication of volunteers who traveled the countryside, getting members to sign up for the service. With a primary purpose of providing the best possible electric service at the lowest possible cost, Santee Electric Cooperative has become a cornerstone in the communities it serves. Santee Electric's expansive service area includes Williamsburg, Georgetown, Clarendon and Florence counties. More than 40,000 members benefit from 5,000+ miles of line, with headquarters located in Kingstree. In powering communities and lives, Santee Electric Cooperative exemplifies a legacy of service, reliability, and commitment to the well-being of its members.

Teachers, Santee Electric is accepting applications for Bright Ideas. Bright Ideas grants fund innovative classroom-based education projects and are awarded for up to $1,000.
