Greg London, a 36-year veteran of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office, will serve as the next County Sheriff. The Sarpy County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted 5-0 to appoint London to the position in 2025, following the retirement of Sheriff Jeff Davis. London is the current chief deputy, next in command to the Sheriff. “We're grateful to Sheriff Davis, who dedicated 50 years of service to Sarpy County – his retirement is well deserved, as is Greg London’s appointment to the position. The county has known Greg as a respected public servant and trusted leader since he joined the Office more than 30 years ago,” Sarpy County Board Chair Angi Burmeister said. “We're fortunate that someone with his regard for public safety will be at the helm next year.” Davis announced his retirement, effective Jan. 7, 2025, creating a vacancy in the office. Vacancies are filled by the county board. London will serve the remainder of the County Sheriff’s 4-year term, which extends through 2026. London started his career with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office in 1988. During his tenure, he has worked as the commander of the Administration, Road Patrol and Jail Divisions. London was promoted to chief deputy in 2014. Learn more online: https://lnkd.in/gA--5z7Z
