New Yorkers are getting a whiff of Paris with a new experiential retail format. The French luxury shopping destination PRINTEMPS opened at 1 Wall Street on Friday morning. Schimenti successfully delivered PRINTEMPS’ first U.S. flagship, reinventing the traditional department store to focus on the individual luxury lifestyle experience with the integration of health and wellness and food and beverage experiences, led by acclaimed chef Gregory Gourdet. Guided by the vision of Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede, the project included a full interior demolition, complete MEP system replacement, and the creation of multiple levels for sales and back-of-house operations. Designed to embody SKIMS’ signature monochromatic aesthetic, the store blends luxury and minimalism, offering a sophisticated yet welcoming environment in one of the world’s premier shopping destinations. The build features high ceilings, rounded architectural transitions, and recessed lighting, enhancing the store’s warm, calming atmosphere. On, the Swiss-based athletic shoe and performance sportswear brand, partnered with Schimenti to build its latest flagship in the Flatiron District, transforming a historic former bank into a cutting-edge retail destination. Spanning 10,410 SF, with approximately 4,600 SF dedicated to retail, the space seamlessly blends modern millwork with classic New York plasterwork while preserving its landmark-protected storefront. The store quickly became a focal point in the neighborhood, drawing attention even before opening with striking storefront graphics that built anticipation. Schimenti Construction meticulously executed the build, incorporating intricate design details that honor the building’s history while aligning with the brand’s contemporary aesthetic. Restored plaster ceiling details, large-format tile installations and custom stucco column finishes adding texture and depth to the space, creating a refined yet dynamic shopping environment. H&M’s newly reimagined Times Square flagship sets a new standard for immersive retail design, combining bold aesthetics with modern functionality. Spanning 45,000 SF across three floors, the space features premium materials such as fluted concrete panels, seamless terrazzo flooring, and custom wood fitting rooms, creating a refined yet dynamic atmosphere. A signature glass wall encases a multi-story ambient light display, surrounding the central escalator and serving as a striking focal point. Schimenti executed the build with precision, ensuring the seamless integration of complex design elements. The installation of LED walls in the escalator atrium required careful sequencing of scaffolding and ceiling work to achieve a flawless finish. The 52,000 SF space includes over 37,000 SF dedicated to retail, transforming three separate, non-adjacent spaces into a unified, multi-level shopping destination designed to reflect Primark’s bold and modern brand identity while enhancing customer flow and functionality. The build features carefully executed design elements, including a BiLusion feature wall, custom interior signage, and a wood-slatted cash wrap, all designed to create a welcoming and visually distinct shopping environment. The space was successfully brought together through thoughtful planning and coordination to meet Primark’s vision.
