Last week, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend and present at the Association of Science and Technology Centers 2024 conference in Chicago, a premier event for science and children's museums worldwide. Mindy Porter, Simon Mused, Kimberly Kay, and Tyler Begneaud all shared their insights with our industry, contributing to the important conversations around elevating guest experiences, fostering community engagement, and shaping the future of science and children's museums. It was an honor to connect with peers from science centers and museums worldwide, discuss best practices, and learn from one another to enhance informal learning experiences. We’re proud to be part of this dynamic community dedicated to inspiring curiosity and creativity in visitors of all ages! #ASTC2024 #ScienceMuseums #ChildrensMuseums #MuseumEducation #CommunityEngagement #MuseumIndustry #ProfessionalDevelopment #Conference

Confidence and creativity are in the spotlight at the LPGA NW Arkansas Championship’s Confidence Courtyard this weekend! Throughout the event, we’re offering hands-on activities that invite kids to explore, build, and learn—developing essential skills while boosting their belief in what they can achieve. It’s especially important to foster confidence in young girls, as research shows that girls often start to lose confidence in subjects like STEAM by the age of 8. By giving them the opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving early, we’re helping close that gap, encouraging them to pursue their interests and overcome barriers. Come see firsthand how powerful hands-on learning can be in sparking confidence and curiosity. Together, let’s create a future where every child, regardless of gender, believes they can achieve more. #Confidence #GirlsInSTEM #NWAChampionship #LPGA #LearningThroughPlay #Arkansas Procter & Gamble Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Walmart

At the Amazeum, we believe that play and creativity are powerful drivers of learning, growth, and entrepreneurship. The Youth Maker Program: Make. Create. Sell. exemplifies our commitment to hands-on learning and providing teens with real-world skills. We’re especially proud of how this program fosters innovation, confidence, and collaboration, helping teens develop not just products, but essential life and entrepreneurial skills. Through workshops, mentorship, and our Tinkering Workshop, we aim to create an environment where teens can thrive—where their ideas take shape, and where they’re supported at every step of their creative journey. We're excited to see the next generation of makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs grow within this program, and we can’t wait to witness what they will create for this year’s Winter Youth Maker Market! I am excited about the launch of this year's Youth Maker Program: Make. Create. Sell. https://lnkd.in/gs_K3zb7 Last year, Meg Benedetti and I had the opportunity to prototype this program based on community response and feedback it is back! The growth in confidence and community building through our teens in the program last year was outstanding to witness. I am incredible grateful to have amazing sponsors: Windgate Foundation, Cox Communications, and 3M for this year's winter series, and I am eagerly looking forward to our upcoming workshops. If you know a creative teen, we would love to have them join us for one of our kickstarter entrepreneurship workshops. Following the workshop, teens can apply for our Youth Maker Market Development program, which provides tools, resources, materials, and mentorship opportunities. Selected teens will also get to participate in additional workshops at the Amazeum, focusing on branding, pricing, and engaging with established community artists and makers. AND, teens will have access to Open Make Times in the Tinkering Workshop at the Amazeum, allowing them to work on their products, learn new skills, and receive mentorship on branding, pricing, or marketing. Save the date for the Scott Family Amazeum Winter Youth Maker Market on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025.

Research shows that play is a critical part of childhood development. It enhances creativity, problem-solving, and social skills, allowing children to engage in deeper learning experiences. Play encourages children to take risks, build resilience, and discover new ways to approach challenges. By fostering environments where children are free to explore and experiment, we can help them grow into confident, curious, and innovative thinkers. Let's recognize the impact of play on learning and development. #LearningThroughPlay #ChildhoodDevelopment #Impact #EarlyLearning

During #WelcomeWeekNWA, we celebrate the power of inclusivity and community! Last week, we were thrilled to partner with Ozark Adaptive Sports Association to bring adaptive sports to the Amazeum. Kids had a blast trying out sports chairs and learning how to play alongside their friends with physical disabilities. It's moments like these that remind us how important it is to create welcoming spaces for everyone, where abilities are celebrated, and everyone can play together. Join us in embracing diversity and connection! 🏀💛 #InclusiveCommunity #Impact #Community #BentonvilleArkansas
