About us

SDHR Forum is a non-profit Human Resources group serving the San Diego Business Community by providing a setting for Professional Networking, Development, and Leadership. It is the Mission of SDHR Forum to develop business leaders with strategic and innovative practices. Our membership includes business professionals of varying disciplines, including HR Professionals at all levels, Employment Law Attorneys, Relocation Specialists, and members who are currently "in transition". Among our active membership and current Board of Directors, we have past presidents and some of San Diego's top insurance brokers. In January 2013, SD HR Forum was established as a stand alone, non-profit organization. The organization was established as a way to utilize our resources to align with our Mission, which is to develop business leaders with strategic and innovative practices. At SDHR Forum, we believe in providing programs with a strategic HR focus, geared toward building better business partners. As such, we hold HRCI credited breakfast meetings the third Tuesday of each month.

Dynamic speaker 🎤, solid content, great networking, and a full belly 😋. Walking away from our SDHR Forum breakfast with a smile and some new nuggets. 🌟 I always enjoy keeping a pulse on the HR community and responsibilities. These are the professionals we tend to work the most closely with when implementing and managing a benefits program. These are also the individuals whose lives we impact the most when we provide the heavy lifting and support they need and deserve to get from a broker partner. It’s amazing how many roles and responsibilities that are placed on an HR professional within an organization. They should have their time freed up to do those impactful, proactive things. Not waste time with items a broker should be doing for them like: 👉 Fixing incorrect billing 👉 Waiting on hold with carriers 👉Helping employees with insurance claims 👉 Employee benefits education & onboarding 👉 Managing enrollment systems 👉 Facilitating COBRA and much more! #hrcommunity #strategicplan #somanyhats #themorrisonadvantage

What a treat to have Gaylene Xanthopoulos from The Leadership Edge present to SDHR Forum! Gaylene is an expert at strategic leadership and shared several gems: - be the receiver of feedback - utilize BOTH business acumen and business strategy development to drive business results - know what’s top of mind for the CEO, Leadership Team and Board - evaluate whether you’re having the right IMPACT - know that your priorities will shift based on the stage of your organization’s growth In our Legal Update, Ryan Nell from Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin PC reminded us to make sure the correct labor law posters are in place on-site and distributed to remote workers. Our board is committed to fostering education and great programs for our HR community!
