  • The 3rd annual Ancestors Day was a beautiful success, even with the unpredictable weather! We're grateful to have partnered with the Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants and the Presidio Trust to bring this day to life. 🙏🏽 Over 150 people joined us—including monks, laymen and some amazing performers—to honor seven generations of our ancestors. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible!

  • Meet David Cady! David’s been holding it down as our HR generalist and office admin since early 2023, and we couldn’t be luckier to have him! Before joining SEADC, David spent time assisting English teachers in rural Japan and supporting community college students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Now, he’s all about making sure our team has everything we need to keep making an impact in the Tenderloin and beyond. Whether it’s handling HR, keeping the office running smoothly, or backing up our crew in a pinch, David is always on it. Let’s show David some love for being the behind-the-scenes hero keeping us going!

  • Had an amazing day with our SEADC family at our first Walk for Wellness event! We took a group of clients to the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, and it was such a beautiful and enriching experience. Shoutout to AJ and Dr. Sun for leading the way and sharing the importance of wellness walks for our community's physical and mental well-being. Walking together and exploring the museum's incredible exhibits was a perfect blend of exercise and cultural enrichment. Can't wait for the next one!

  • Say hello to Nittaya "Nicky" Cohen, another one of our amazing bilingual community ambassadors at SEADC! Nicky brings a powerhouse combo of a B.A. in accounting and economics plus a master's in economics, backed by 20 years of crunching numbers in finance and accounting. But that's not all—Nicky’s heart is huge! She’s all about helping people live better lives, and you’ll often catch her volunteering around the community. When she's not bridging the gap with her bilingual English/Thai skills, she's probably baking up a storm, getting artsy with paint or jewelry, diving into a great book, or jamming to some pop and jazz tunes. Drop a comment and let Nicky know how much she is appreciated!

  • Meet Bounnong Sithounnolat, one of our amazing bilingual community ambassadors! Bounnong's journey started in Laos and led her through a refugee camp in Thailand before landing in San Francisco. She's got that warrior spirit! 💪 She spent nine years in corporate banking (yep, you read that right!) but decided to switch gears. After hitting the books and working as a caregiver, she found her true calling as a mom and client at SEADC. That experience was a game-changer, and she's been rocking with us ever since. Bounnong brings so much heart and hustle to our team. Give her some applause! 👏👏👏
