Want to hear what a dolphin sounds like in the middle of the Pacific? Turn up your speakers! Perceptive listeners may notice a rhythmic knocking – that’s our single-beam echosounder, measuring depth as H24 left Oʻahu the day this was recorded. Visit track.seasats.com to see more. About us
Seasats builds and operates high-endurance, user-friendly autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs) that collect data for defense, research, and commercial customers. Seasats vehicles carry sensors into places that are either too dangerous or too expensive to reach with crewed vessels, drastically reducing operational risks and costs.

1,700 nautical miles and 36 days in, H24 has crossed the international dateline and is now halfway from Hawaii to Japan! The weather has so far held out, with wind speeds topping out at 23 knots yesterday. As always, visit track.seasats.com to see live data. The Starlink-on periods have been shifted to accommodate changing time zones and an international audience – you can now stream video at 1100 and 1700 Pacific Time (1400 and 2000 ET; 0300 and 1100 JT). #TransPac #USV #ocean #autonomy #bluetech

Another beautiful day on the water! Fun fact: except for their payloads, these ASVs (shown off San Diego) are identical to the one halfway through an unsupported voyage from Hawaii to Japan. Follow along at track.seasats.com. #USV #ocean #autonomy

This month Seasats is working alongside NATO partners in Portugal as part of #REPMUS24. Last week, using an acoustic array towed behind a Lightfish, our partners at Sensor Technology LTD and Applied Ocean Sciences (AOS) collected acoustic signatures for underwater and surface vehicles as well as nearby dolphins. #maritimeunmannedsystems #innovationNATO #USV #oceans #acoustics

Seasats reposted this
Second week at Marinha Portuguesa - Página Oficial #REPMUS2024, successful on the water with our partners LSTS FEUP who brought their Web C2 Ripples to enhance situational awareness and provide access to environmental models, mission areas, sound sources, target results, and more. Together with Applied Ocean Sciences (AOS) conducting operational experimentation for Counter Uncrewed Vehicles (CUxVs). Our three (3) Passive Acoustic Thin Line Towed Arrays were deployed simultaneously. Two arrays were towed: one by Seasats’ Lightfish USV and the second one by Maritime Robotics AS’ Mariner USV. The third array was deployed vertically from the Orca support vessel of Instituto Hidrográfico - Marinha Portuguesa. We were able to detect the acoustic signatures of dolphins as well as active and passive signals from multiple target vessels, both surface and underwater. As a test of multistatic operations we added an active source to the detection network. 🚤 ⛴ 🌊 Impressive: Seasats’ Lightfish USV spent the night autonomously towing our 30m, 16 channel array in a loiter pattern 5 nautical miles offshore. The array was recording all night, so our team had the chance to listen to the dolphins for breakfast. 🐬 🐬 🔊 Sensor Technology LTD Andrew Mark Stefan Trotzky Paulo Sousa Dias #WeAreNATO #REPMUS24 #MaritimeUnmannedSystems #Innovationtechnologies #InnovationNATO #ArtificialIntelligence #strongertogether

Researchers at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography recently got hands-on with two Lightfish at the Scripps Pier. With one #ASV on the pier and another in the water, attendees got to alternate between driving one and inspecting the other. Thanks to Canon Purdy, Vanessa Scott, Douglas Alden, and the Scripps Technical Forum for organizing this event! #USV #ocean #autonomy #ucsd #SanDiego #bluetech

An estimated 14 million seabirds pass through Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument each year. Since Lightfish 24 left Honolulu 1,000 miles ago, its ML has flagged more than a few of these birds. Comment if you think you can ID any of these species! Want to see if you can spot birds (or fish!) yourself? Visit track.seasats.com, where you can stream live video between 11am and noon PT every day.
