There is no minimum balance required to earn dividends and dividends accrue when the account balance is greater than zero. Dividends are compounded daily and credited annually on July 31 or August 31, depending on your election. 2. The account can be closed at any time during the program year without penalty. However, once the account is closed, it cannot be reopened until the next program year.
