Seedfunders is thrilled to announce our latest pre-seed investment in Ainthoven led by SeedFundersOrlando. Ainthoven, a #Melbourne, #Florida #medtech startup, is developing first-of-its-kind machine learning technologies to detect life-threatening heart conditions using pediatric and young adult screening electrocardiograms (ECGs), which will help prevent sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in children and adolescents. Ainthoven recently closed an oversubscribed $500K pre-seed round from Seedfunders, Catalyst by Wellstar, and 11 individual investors. “SCA is a leading cause of death in children and adolescents,” said Evan Ernst, cofounder and CEO of Ainthoven. “Electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings save lives by helping to identify heart conditions that could lead to SCA. Unfortunately, there are very few experts at pediatric ECG Interpretation in the United States, and many kids don’t have access to this important technology. We’re fixing that by developing machine learning technologies that will help bring high quality, safe, and effective ECG screenings to kids across the country.” Other Ainthoven cofounders include COO/CCO Zachary Ernst, CMO Bhavya Trivedi, MD, PhD, FHRS, CEPS, CTO Marklyton Holmes, Jr., and CFO Josh Coughlin. He created local partnerships with top programs, media, executives, investors, founders and work spaces to help build the startup ecosystem. Additionally, James has served as a Pitch Coach for NewChip Accelerator and founded Pitch Night New York and Miami, where he organized monthly pitch competitions for early stage startups bringing together the community for a night of entertainment, opportunity and collaboration.  James is also a Partner in 305 Works in Miami, a full-service agency for startups, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.   Prior to his involvement in the startup world, James spent a number of years with JPMorgan Chase and Merrill Lynch.
