Seguin Independent School District is located 30 minutes east of San Antonio and 50 minutes southwest of Austin in the growing community of Seguin in Central Texas. Seguin ISD is the largest school district in Guadalupe County and encompasses 365 square miles. It serves approximately 7,000 pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students and employs more than 1,000 staff including 466 teachers. During the 2021-22 school year, 475 students graduated from Seguin High Schoo. These students earned more than 1 Million dollars in scholarship awards. Congratulations to the October recipient of the Superintendent Apple Award, Stephanie DuBose! Mrs. DuBose teaches third grade at Koennecke Elementary. This leader guiding the next generation of Matadors is a Matador herself, having graduated from Seguin High School, followed by Texas State University. She is a mother of four children who has undoubtedly touched many lives now that she is in her 12th year of teaching. She also helped launch the "Learning Beyond the Classroom" initiative, bringing science to life at the Seguin ISD Irma Lewis Outdoor Learning Center for third, fourth, and fifth graders. Thank you, Mrs. DuBose, for all that you do for Seguin ISD students.

The Middle School Superintendent Student of the Month is Barnes 8th grader Asher Weaver. Asher is an honor roll student involved in the National Junior Honor Society, a percussionist in the Honor Band, and participates in football, basketball, and track.
