This morning, Sei Labs has announced the upgrade of the Sei arctic-1 devnet to “version 2”. Sei V2 marks a significant milestone as the first high performance, parallelized Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain. This upgrade addresses Ethereum's scalability and performance issues, aiming to significantly enhance speed and efficiency within the ecosystem. Sei V2 merges Ethereum's robust development environment with Solana-like parallel execution and fast finality, setting a new benchmark for blockchain performance within the Ethereum ecosystem. Through backwards compatibility with existing Ethereum smart contracts, Sei v2 allows for a new option for developers, via seamless deployment of existing dApps onto this highly scalable platform.
