  • Throughout last week, our team steadfastly supported the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office in their recovery efforts following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. Our Patrol Deputies worked tirelessly, providing 24/7 patrols in the hardest-hit areas while helping distribute essential supplies to affected residents. Our Special Operations Team were also on the ground, clearing debris to help reopen county schools. Additionally, they provided security for visiting officials, including Governor Ron DeSantis, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, and President Joe Biden. We’ve been overwhelmed by the gratitude and gestures of support from the residents of Dixie County, which has truly reinforced the resilience and unity of this community. The team has now returned to Seminole County and prepares to respond to the upcoming storm.

Seminole County is grateful to have experienced only minor effects from Hurricane Helene. On Friday, a team of 35 SCSO personnel deployed to assist the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office. Dixie County has been severely impacted, with over 90% of the county losing power and catastrophic damage to its coastal communities. Our deputies are actively supporting 24/7 patrols and recovery efforts in the hardest-hit areas.
