Next week starts the North American Bikeshare & Scootershare Association Conference in Philadelphia, and we're excited that Rebecca Reilly of our Reddy Bikeshare team will be speaking at it! Rebecca joined us last year as a Climate Justice Fellow with New York State Energy Research And Development Authority (NYSERDA). She researched how bikeshare operations are conducted in different cities and countries and tested a lot of the strategies here in Buffalo & Niagara Falls. She will be discussing her findings at a panel discussion at the conference on Tuesday. Folks can read more about her research in the blog link below: https://lnkd.in/gDtQwF8J

E-bikes can provide transformational mobility access and independence for people reentering society after incarceration. We’re proud to partner with Tomorrow’s Neighbors in their Ride 2 Work program - giving people access to e-bikes for commuting to work, attending appointments, and reaching other essential destinations in #Carslile , PA. Kurt Danysh, Director of Tomorrow’s Neighbors said on the program, “It’s not just about getting from point A to point B – it’s about improving people’s lives holistically. The Ride 2 Work program helps people stay healthier, reduces stress, and makes their lives a little easier.” To learn more, read our blog post by Shane Paul - who managed this initiative on behalf of SMI. #EBikeLibraries #Equity #SharedMobility #CommunityImpact https://lnkd.in/ePqQRYnb

Exactly four months ago today, we installed the first universal wireless charging station for shared electric micromobility in the US to support the Capital District Transportation Authority’s CDPHP Cycle! (https://lnkd.in/dX8xWfJY) bikeshare system, in Amsterdam, NY. Since May 23rd 2023, re:Charge’s universal wireless charging solution has made Drop Mobility’s bikes accessible to more people in Amsterdam, NY, while helping Shared Mobility Inc bikeshare operations. After four full months of operation, the universal wireless system has not had any reliability issues, and we have been learning valuable lessons from this public deployment which we look forward to using when we work on larger deployments. This accomplishment would not be possible without the involvement and support of the following organizations: WiBotic, the provider of our wireless power transfer technology. Drop Mobility, the ebike provider for CDPHP Cycle!, who helped us retrofit their excellent ebikes to receive power wirelessly. Shared Mobility Inc, the operator of CDPHP Cycle!, who provided valuable insight into the impact of battery charging on bikeshare operations. The City of Amsterdam, NY (www.amsterdamny.gov) for hosting our charging station. The Capital District Transportation Authority (www.cdta.org), owner of the bikeshare system. Their leadership in integrating bikeshare into larger transit systems and their willingness to support efforts to make bikeshare better is remarkable. #micromobility #charging #ebikes #climatesolutions #bikeshare #equity

Ossining, NY—This summer marked the launch of an exciting new e-bikeshare program in the Village of Ossining, NY, operated by Drop Mobility in partnership with Shared Mobility Inc. As a pilot initiative, the program will provide 50 electric bikes (e-bikes) for residents and visitors of Ossining, with the goal to expand to 300 e-bikes throughout the Village of Ossining and several surrounding Rivertowns in Westchester County. The pilot phase, which will operate until late November 2024, aims to expand mobility options for the community and advance Ossining Village Mayor Rika Levin’s goal of becoming the greenest Village in the nation by increasing bike and transit trips and decreasing driving trips and carbon emissions while allowing the Village to learn and adjust as needs of riders may require. This program is part of Project MOVER, funding for which is provided by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) under the New York Clean Transportation Prizes program. The expansion communities included in the grant are the Town of Ossining and the Villages of @Croton-on-Hudson, Tarrytown, and Dobbs Ferry, and future phases in Ossining and beyond will include lease-to-own programs for working-class families, and the operation of “bike libraries” throughout the partnering communities. Bikes launched for community use on August 26th, with a formal ribbon cutting on Wednesday, October 9th. For more information about the pilot, visit projectmoverbikeshare.com. Businesses and community members interested in partnerships/sponsorship opportunities and bulk membership purchases should contact support@projectmover.com.
