Meet Sonia Andalon, our newest employee from Mid-America! Sonia is currently a CNA and is preparing to take her NCLEX-PN to become a nurse. Sonia is the first student to take advantage of our tuition assistance agreement with Mid-America College of Health Sciences. Because students attending Mid-America are required to have their tuition paid in full before sitting for their tests, Shawnee Gardens/Recover-Care has agreed to pay the last $5,000.00 of tuition owed if the student agrees to work at our facility for a year. “I plan on beginning my practical nursing career here at Shawnee Gardens. I enjoy it here because of the wonderful residents and the community. I have gotten to know many of the residents, and they brighten my day so much! We are very excited to have Sonia here with us as she continues to thrive, bringing joy and energy to the building when she is here. We are hopeful that this mutually beneficial symbiosis between Shawnee Gardens Healthcare & Rehab Center and MidAmerica Nazarene University .
