Your living room is more than just a space. It's the heart of your home and a haven for unwinding, entertaining, and making memories. A room that important deserves a layout that shines, and we're here to ignite your creative spark ✨ Here are four expert-level tips to help you design the living room of your dreams: 1️⃣ Choose a focal point that reflects your living room life Unsure about your pièce de résistance? Think about what defines your living room. For watch parties, a flatscreen does wonders; for book lovers, a cozy fireplace is ideal. 2️⃣ Use the Golden Ratio when choosing furniture Breaking your design space into sections helps create an effortless visual balance between positive and negative space. 3️⃣ Design for a good visual and physical flow Physical flow promotes easy movement with plenty of legroom and clear walkways. Visual flow creates cohesion within your design space through clearly defined zones. 4️⃣ Combine natural and artificial lighting Combine ceiling lights, windows, table lamps, and sconces to set the perfect mood in your living room. This creates depth and warmth for a layered visual atmosphere. Discover six space-savvy layout ideas for your living room that even the most amateur designers can mimic successfully: https://lnkd.in/ga3bWcJd

Cottagecore design is a rustic dream of wicker and flora that homeowners can't get enough of. When the hustle and bustle of daily life becomes overwhelming, cottagecore brings us back to a simpler time of cozy cottages, blooming gardens, and the serene charm of the countryside. Here's how you can transform your home into a cottagecore haven: 1️⃣ Start with a cozy living room Design your living room for cozy nights. Think floral armchairs, a rich vintage rug, and a shelf of well-worn books that capture the cottagecore spirit of comfort and simple pleasures. 2️⃣ Let your kitchen bloom Choose stone or wooden countertops, vintage cabinets with wooden knobs, and soft-toned open shelving for mismatched teacups and antique cookware. Think function meets rustic charm. 3️⃣ Embrace a dreamy bedroom retreat Your cottagecore bedroom should be a peaceful sanctuary with a quaint wicker headboard, cozy mossy green quilt, fluffy lace-trimmed pillows, and nature-inspired yellow wallpaper. Could you outship and outshine other startups in your sector if you’d raised 25 times less? Zach H. already is. Deft is building e-commerce search that finds exactly what you’re looking for with natural language and images. Online shopping today is crazy inefficient. The average shopper spends 15 hours to make ONE purchase decision. Deft is bringing us to a world where that purchase decision will happen with 1 search on 1 website. And they’ve made serious progress: Deft already converts 5 times better than traditional retailers. My favorite part of Deft? The behavior change I think they’re going to facilitate: conscious consumption. Deft will make sure you don’t spend 15 hours being bombarded by ads that make you buy things you’d never have cared for. Spotify: https://lnkd.in/d7g8WCWt Apple: https://lnkd.in/dVqqS_Vk

Modern design is more than just visual appeal; it embodies a philosophy of beauty, functionality, and a connection to nature. Looking to infuse your home with modern design aesthetics? Consider these key elements: 1️⃣ Clean lines & geometric forms Sleek sofas and geometric tables create order and openness, making spaces feel airy and inviting. 2️⃣ Neutral color palettes Whites, beiges, and grays with pops of color from art or accents offer calmness and focus on clean lines and materials. 3️⃣ Natural materials Wood, stone, leather, and glass add warmth and texture, enhancing style and comfort. 4️⃣ Low & long furniture Low-profile, elongated furniture promotes spaciousness and fluid movement, avoiding visual clutter. 5️⃣ Open floor plans Removing walls connects living areas, boosts natural light, and fosters a sense of togetherness. When should you splurge or save when redesigning your home? It's a question many amateur designers struggle with — especially after experiencing sticker shock when shopping for new furniture. To simplify their home design journey, we asked fashion and interior designer Brianna Via to share her tips on achieving the perfect splurge vs. save ratio. Here's what she had to share: 1️⃣ Splurge on long-term investment pieces Core pieces like solid wood cabinets, sideboards, and tables are the workhorses of your home and will stand the test of time. Definitely splurge on them. 2️⃣ Save on pieces that easily get ruined While it can be tempting to splurge on that Persian-style rug you've been eyeing, these pieces experience high traffic and can easily get damaged or stained. 3️⃣ Don't be afraid to DIY Sure, DIY projects can be time-consuming, but they can be surprisingly simple, and the cost savings are undeniable. 4️⃣ Use Deft Imagine to ignite your creativity Purchasing furniture and decor online can be risky. Deft Imagine helps you visualize new pieces within your space with AI-generated imagery — saving you from costly and inconvenient returns. supporting entrepreneurship at scale

🌟 Highlights from Our Future of Commerce Founder Dinner with Sebastian Thrun 🌟 This week, Shopify Ventures and Stripe Ventures had the privilege of hosting an inspiring evening with AI pioneer Sebastian Thrun and a select group of visionary founders. Sebastian is a leading figure in #AI and robotics, known for founding Google X, Google’s lab for moonshot technologies including self-driving cars, and educational platform Udacity. The event, part of our ongoing effort to knit together a strong community of entrepreneurs building the future of commerce, was part tech talk, part dinner party – where all guests were serving up fresh ideas and insights: 🛍️ Shopping, But Not as We Know It: AI is fundamentally changing the way we interact with commerce. From personalized shopping experiences to fraud prevention and automating customer support, the possibilities for transforming and enhancing how commerce is done today seem endless. 🤔 Question everything: We should constantly be challenging our conventional assumptions about AI. The industry is rapidly evolving and there are more unknowns than ‘knowns’ at this stage. 🪴 Untapped potential: As Maju Kuruvilla🪄 pointed out, we’re all on the edge of our seats because the best commercial applications with AI are yet to be developed. It’s still very much a greenfield space and the application layer is where the really exciting and differentiated work is happening now. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and shared their insights and stories. It’s the power of this community that will turn the ideas around the future of commerce into reality. 🚀 Big Sur AI | Croissant | Crossing Minds | DanswerAI | Deft | Glaze | Hue. | Layer Financial | MultiOn | Parcha | Remark | ShopMy Cheers from Bram Sugarman, Fjolla B., Jeff Kennedy, Jonathan Chen, Matthew Yalowitz and myself! #FutureofCommerce #Entrepreneurship #Community #Commerce #AI
