Exciting news! 🎉 PCMag recently announced which brands and products rose to the top of its 2024 Readers' Choice: Home Security rankings. We're proud to share that SimpliSafe was named the top choice for Indoor Security Cameras, Outdoor Security Cameras and Video Doorbells, and second in Overall Satisfaction. What we love most about this list is that it was voted on by thousands of real consumers, rating the brands and products that keep their homes safe. This recognition speaks to the high level of trust our customers place in us and the customer obsession that our teams live by each day!

As a company constantly innovating and developing new home security solutions, patents are critical to our business and our team of inventors. Thankfully, David Soucy, our Senior IP Counsel, is at the helm of our patent programs. David was invited to participate in an esteemed IP Watchdog and LexisNexis panel on "Smart Patent Strategies—Managing and Optimizing Your Portfolio" with Nicholas Valentino of Lexia Nexis and Mark Vallone of IBM. Like always, David shared great insights on our patent program, as well as how fast-growing companies like ours can maximize value from patent programs and the importance of forging a strong relationship between business owners and legal teams. In honor of the Summer Olympics and Paralympics, we hosted our own "SimpliSafe Olympics" at Boston HQ. Though we decided to forgo breakdancing this year, SimpliSafers still had the chance to show off their skills in bowling, egg spoon racing, mini basketball, and riddles. Our People Team, led by Kristen Dailey Holoien, took the Gold at our "Medals and Macarons" closing ceremony, alongside Silver (CIOGS led by Joseph Erhard) and Bronze (Finance led by Seth Davis Brown). At the end of the day, we all walked away winners and had a great time closing out the summer together!

We recently opened a new office in Manchester for our growing UK team. Like our Boston HQ, the Manchester office is designed to be a collaborative workspace where SimpliSafers—whether they're working in the office or virtually from home—can come together to create innovative products and experiences that enhance our customers' safety. We're excited to call this beautiful new space home!

This week, a team from our Monitoring Center in Richmond visited SimpliSafe HQ to help bring our mission to life for our Boston-based teams. SimpliSafers in HQ got to sit side-by-side with monitoring experts and see first-hand how alarms are monitored, addressed and escalated to emergency responders if needed. It was an valuable visit on both sides - for our team in Boston to see how we keep our customers safe in action and for our monitoring agents to network and meet other teams at SimpliSafe. This summer, our Caregivers ERG hosted two Bring Your Kids To Work Days at our Willow Lawn and Cox Road offices, welcoming dozens of “SimpliKids” to learn about their parents’ jobs and home security. During the visits, our friendly visitors participated in a scavenger hunt, created their own office badges, and had a dance party in the cafeteria. The events were a huge success thanks to the creative Caregivers ERG and are quickly becoming a popular tradition across our offices. We can't wait for the next one!

Innovation has been core to SimpliSafe's DNA from day one, but inventing and filing patents can feel daunting. That's why our Women in Tech (WIT) ERG hosted a panel to demystify the patent process, encouraging more SimpliSafers to get involved and pursue patents of their own. Our Senior IP Counsel and Global Lead Patent Counsel, David Soucy, walked SimpliSafers through the criticality of patents to our business, as well as the overall process. We also heard from two of our own SimpliSafe inventors, Monica Xu and Joey Wong, to learn about their inventor journeys and the patent filing process. Thank you, WIT, for organizing such a thoughtful and educational event!

To help kick off the summer season, our workplace experience team hosted a trivia night to test our employees' breadth of knowledge, from naming Queen's number one hit song to recalling the longest reigning monarch. Not only did we discover the true "nerds" in our midst, but the event also gave us the opportunity to meet and mingle with SimpliSafers across departments.
