Things I am not interested in: performative activism and self-sacrifice in social and environmental impact-related work. I will save my rant on this and my stories of how I am very good at the latter for another day. But as I prepare to bring another group of women + non-binary changemakers together for my upcoming circle, Carrying The Question, it feels important to invite people who are considering joining to please leave your “good student” questions at the door. Good student questions are those that we think we should ask, that we hope will earn us praise or belonging, or make us look smart. And we started asking them for a very good reason: to help ourselves feel safe. But good student questions will not help you: 💥 Uncover the true leverage points in your changemaking work 💥 Help you find your unique path in this constantly evolving landscape of our world 💥 Know how to tend to yourself as you do this challenging work of systems change Instead, I want to invite your honest questions. The ones that are most alive in your heart. In the last few weeks, the questions on my heart have included: “Where can I find joy amidst the challenges of what’s happening?”, “What step forward could I take this season that would meet my needs and be of service?”, and “How might I move my body more in my daily life?” If you’re a woman or non-binary person who cares about our collective future and you’d like to learn a tool to help you find insights into questions like these, I’d love to have you join me for Carrying The Question, starting Oct. 25! And drop me a 🙌 in the comments if you too are so over putting what other people think ahead of what’s true for you. #regenerativeleadership #cycleawareness #socialimpact #socialentrepreneurship #climateleadership #sustainability #feminineleadership #womensleadership #personalsustainability
