Nails. Hammers. Construction. Oh my! 🛠 We are busting at the seams and are undergoing growing pains as we serve more women who are unhoused each day. Thank you to Loni Nannini of the Arizona Daily Star for visiting with us. Read her story here: https://bit.ly/ADZLN #Tucson #homeless #women #summer

AZPM spent several days with us last month. They listened and visited with our guests with the goal of creating awareness for women who are unhoused. We can end homelessness together by providing more affordable housing, mental health services, and reinvesting in a safety net. These are a few essential components necessary to care for our community. And, without volunteers, our doors would not open to serve guests. A special thank you to those who give their time as we celebrate #NationalVolunteerWeek. Please share this video (bit.ly/SisterJoseAZPM) with family and friends as we continue to advocate for change. Thank you to AZPM for your kindness, friendship, and sharing your talents.

Larger dining room and more resting spaces to accommodate the growing number of unhoused. More showers and bathrooms to keep guests healthy. Safe outdoor spaces to provide respite from violence. Wellness and education building to move guests forward. Donation center to make the most of our valuable in-kind gifts. More beds means more more safe nights for unhoused women.
Thank you to Jacqueline Aguilar from KGUN 9 for covering the first phase of construction to Sister José Women's Center. We will focus on adding beds for currently-unhoused women--later phases will add classrooms for services and a proper donation area. Construction starts next Wednesday https://lnkd.in/dyRWvb7E.
