#Caltrans and the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (#SJJPA) have secured $54.5 million in federal grant funding through the MEGA initiative to support the Madera High-Speed Rail Station, a key component of California's High-Speed Rail system. This funding will help relocate the future Madera Amtrak Station into a modern hub that improves connectivity for Madera County and Northern Fresno County and Merced-Bakersfield Early Operating Segment. Investment in Infrastructure: The grant will fund critical upgrades, including new platforms, trackwork, a bus depot, expanded parking, multi-use path, and more. Economic Impact: This project will stimulate economic growth while supporting sustainable transportation initiatives to reduce emissions. Integrated Connectivity: The station will seamlessly connect with Amtrak San Joaquins and ACE commuter rail services, providing enhanced travel options across California. We are thrilled to announce that the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA), in collaboration with the San Joaquins Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA), has launched a new service to Chico as of August 22, 2024. This new partnership enhances connectivity between Redding, Red Bluff, and Chico, with seamless connections to Amtrak Thruway buses for Sacramento and Stockton. Riders can now purchase bus-only tickets for these routes, expanding options and accessibility across Route 3. This service expansion reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive transportation solutions, improving access for underserved communities, reducing emissions, and better utilizing existing transit services.
