A group of SLFCU’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) members recently joined forces with Saranam in Albuquerque to spruce up a children’s playground and decorate apartments that will provide cozy and welcoming spaces for families overcoming homelessness. Saranam is an amazing New Mexico organization that helps families break the cycle of homelessness and achieve lasting stability. They provide housing, food, education, and training—everything families need to create a brighter future. It's PEACH SEASON! Several SLFCU branch leaders recently volunteered with Rio Grande Food Project to make a positive impact in our community. They discovered a giant peach tree on the property and carefully harvested 170 pounds of peaches, which were distributed to food pantry guests the very same day. Last Friday, some of our Human Resources team members volunteered in Albuquerque at The Grief Center's Teen Grief in Motion Workshop. This half-day interactive workshop allows youth who have lost a loved one to express their grief through creative and physical activities that help them recognize their feelings, share memories, and learn coping techniques. Our team provided and served lunch to all attendees.
