About us
Small Business Majority is a national small business advocacy organization, founded and run by small business owners to ensure America's entrepreneurs are a key part of a thriving and inclusive economy. We actively engage small business owners and policymakers in support of public policy solutions, and deliver information and resources to entrepreneurs that promote small business growth and drive a strong, sustainable job-creating economy. Our extensive scientific opinion polling, focus groups and economic research help us educate and inform policymakers, the media and other stakeholders about key issues impacting small businesses and freelancers, including healthcare, access to capital, taxes, retirement, paid leave and other workforce issues. We are excited to see that today California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law the Commercial Tenant Protection Act (SB 1103)! This bill is the first of its kind in the nation, and offers commercial tenant protections aimed at safeguarding the smallest businesses and nonprofits in California from displacement. It continues to be important for small businesses to receive the resources and protections they need to not only survive but thrive, and this bill allows them to be one step closer. We are honored to have served as a sponsor for this bill alongside the other small business advocates and organizations!

We are disheartened that a federal judge in Kentucky has partially blocked the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. Programs like DBE help level the playing field for systematically disadvantaged firms that have historically struggled to access federal contracts. “Reverse discrimination” is no excuse! Read our full press statement here:
Claims of ‘Reverse Discrimination’ are no Excuse for Harming Underserved Small Businesses

Our New Mexico Small Business Council has been hard at work advocating on behalf of small businesses across the state. Yesterday, members Galina Kofchock, KRISTEN WORTHINGTON, Shayai Lucero and Bernina Gray dined together and discussed access to capital and startup challenges for indigenous entrepreneurs as well as how to navigate perplexing tax regulations.
