High-speed designs deprioritize those walking, biking, or rolling, making our roads #dangerousbydesign for everyone but drivers. In order to better protect those outside of cars on our streets, road designs must prioritize #safetyoverspeed. Learn more in this blog post by Jaibin M. ⤵ https://lnkd.in/ekucyPha Current federal spending often leads to road expansion, which increases congestion and emissions. Federal dollars should fund road designs that save lives, not ones that encourage speeding. It’s not enough to lower speed limits—roadways must be redesigned to encourage slower, safer driving. Federal and local policies must focus on creating roads that serve everyone safely, not just vehicle efficiency.

Our friends at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) worked with StoryCorps to capture stories of community members across the U.S. who have been impacted by divisive infrastructure. Check out the collection of stories from people working to transform the places they call home ➡ https://lnkd.in/gwB_nfVY Stories like these help remind us that community-led change, with support from federal and local governments, can reconnect communities harmed by transit or other development projects, so that residents can thrive on their own terms.
