The last, but not least, of our four squads is the Industrial #Biotech Squad. It consists of Michael Nettersheim, Jowita Sewerska, CFA, Jisk de Vries and Bernadette Lee. 💚 The ECBF is the first private #venturecapital fund dedicated exclusively to the (circular) bioeconomy. Of course, companies that have dedicated themselves to industrial biotechnology cannot be left out. The goal of this field is the development of biotechnological processes for the production of bio-based fine and platform chemicals for further processing in the chemical #industry or in sectors such as cosmetics, cleaning agents and plastics or adhesives. Our squad at the ECBF focuses on four different sectors: 🧪 Biobased Chemicals 🦠 Industrial Biotechnology 🏭 Biorefineries 👕 Textiles Using cutting-edge biotechnology and proprietary R&D tools and insights, our portfolio company Biosyntia, for example, is developing first-of-its-kind precision fermentation processes to replace fossil-based alternatives.
