About us

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) The mission of SMPS is to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the design and building industry. SMPS was created in 1973 by a small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to build their businesses. Today it is the only organization dedicated to creating business opportunities in the A/E/C industry. Companies tap into a powerful national and regional network to form teams, secure business referrals and intelligence, and benchmark performance. The Society represents a dynamic network of 6,000+ marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada. SMPS and its chapters benefit from the support of 3,700 design and building firms, encompassing 80% of the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms and Top 400 Contractors. Founded in 1982, SMPS Philadelphia has more than 120 members and a mailing list of 600+ A/E/C professionals.

    The SMPS Philadelphia Chapter is pleased to offer a CPSM scholarship for 2024/2025. Named in honor of Kelly McGann, CPSM, it will be awarded to an eligible SMPS Philadelphia Chapter member who is committed to obtaining CPSM certification in 2024/2025. Valued at $880, the scholarship consists of the Boot Camp fee, application fee, online exam fee, and SMPS suggested reading materials. The exam fee reimbursement is contingent upon a passing grade. The recipient must meet all eligibility requirements and submission requests. Priority will be given to applicants based on their length of membership, level of activity and involvement within the chapter, and plans for continued growth and involvement with SMPS and in promoting the CPSM program.     The 2024-2025 SMPS Philadelphia Mentorship Program is an opportunity for individuals at any stage of their career to share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. By participating in the Mentorship Program, you will be paired with a mentor/protege based on the option you choose. Participants should plan to meet monthly (virtually or in person). This is a commitment for the 2024-2025 season, but as with any new relationship, we hope that this program fosters partnerships that last longer.
