About us
SnackSafely.com provides straightforward, actionable information to improve the lives of the 32 million in the US suffering from food allergies, 5.9 million of whom are children. We strive to eliminate anaphylaxis by leveraging our online properties to educate, advocate, and connect the allergic community with products and services that help toward achieving this goal. Our primary service is the publication of the Safe Snack Guide, a catalog of allergy-friendly foods relied upon by thousands of schools and tens of thousands of families nationwide. SnackSafely.com has developed a proprietary platform designed to foster greater transparency in food product manufacturing with regard to allergens. Food manufacturers join the SnackSafely.com Manufacturer Partnership at no cost by disclosing how 11 allergens are processed during the manufacture of each product, and in return receive free listings in the Safe Snack Guide and Allergence – our allergen product screening service. All companies large and small are encouraged to join our Manufacturing Partnership, which currently comprises over 160 manufacturers including Tootsie Roll Industries, Enjoy Life Foods, and That's It. Our program provides a means for traditional manufacturers, i.e. those that do not specialize in "free-from" products, to engage with the allergic community by providing additional disclosures not required by the FDA.
