The Social Innovation and Change Initiative (SICI) launched at the Harvard Kennedy School in 2016. We develop research, pedagogical content, and educational programs that help students, citizens, and organizations around the world, navigate the challenges of initiating and implementing social change. Through these core activities, we aim to illuminate the multiple paths social innovators can take to advance social progress across sectors.

#lepouvoirpourtout#pouvoir#agiter#innover#orchestrerhttps://lnkd.in/dTxBDTSx

Today is the release of “Le Pouvoir, Pour Tous !”. In the face of political, socio-economic, and environmental crises, we need the courage, energy, and skills to work together to transform our economic, social, and political systems. Such a collective effort is essential to reduce inequalities, strengthen democracy, and protect the planet.
But to succeed in such an undertaking of change, we need an essential ingredient: POWER. That's why I wrote this book with my co-author Tiziana Casciaro, and undertook to translate it from English into French, adapting and enriching it for the French-speaking public.
Drawing on research in the humanities and social sciences, and on never-before-told stories, our aim is to make power easier to understand, so that everyone can dispel misconceptions about it and participate more effectively in efforts to bring about change in organizations and society. Thanks to everyone who worked with us on the book at Dunod and thanks to all our colleagues and friends who helped us in its development process. Thank you to Romain Slitine, Miranda Richmond Mouillot, Caroline Faure, Anne-Claire Pache, and Blanche Segrestin, without whom the French edition would not be what it is today.
Congratulations to Mohit Rauniyar (#Cheng 2023) and the team at Canopy Nepal for their partnership with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office!
Innovative government partnerships - like this! - are so important in enabling organizations like Canopy to scale their impact.

I’m thrilled to announce a major step in our journey of scaling through government collaboration! We start our partnership with काठमाडौँ महानगरपालिका-Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office (KMC) across 18 schools, reaching around 2,000 students. This partnership is particularly exciting because it all began with conversations at the Social Innovation + Change Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School, where Ally Phillips and the team consistently pushed for the scalability of our Katha Bunaun model, recognizing its potential to be both effective and easy to scale.
Now, KMC has embraced the importance of storytelling for young students, introducing it as a new theme for their textbook-free Fridays. Canopy Nepal is leading this effort with our Katha Bunaun sessions, where we equip secondary school students with the creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression skills to tell their own stories.
This collaboration is a significant achievement in our scaling efforts through local government support. This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where this journey takes us next!
We’re eager to explore more government and institutional partnerships like this, so if you're interested or know of anyone who might be a great fit, I’d love to connect.
Shout-out to #Cheng alum Micaela Connery, whose organization The Kelsey was featured on PBS News Hour!

Tuesday night may have been the #Cheng Fellow Spotlight, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t spotlight the SICI team, too. Thank you to everyone who made the Spotlight possible!
Last night, our 2024–25 #Cheng Fellows shared their social innovation efforts with our friends and collaborators from across Harvard at our annual Spotlight event. Thanks to all who came out to support this incredible group!
