Medicare Open Enrollment is here! From October 15 to December 7, you have the opportunity to review your Medicare health and prescription drug plans and make any necessary changes for the upcoming year. Plans can shift each year — whether it’s cost, coverage or in-network providers and pharmacies. Take a moment to check your "Evidence of Coverage" and "Annual Notice of Change" documents to ensure your current plan still meets your needs for 2024. If it does, great! If not, now’s the time to make adjustments. Need more information? Visit the link below. https://go.cms.gov/40eUOxV

Making women's health mainstream
About us
The Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR) is a national thought leader dedicated to advancing women’s health and promoting research on sex differences to optimize women’s health. SWHR plays a critical role in identifying clinical and research gaps; raising awareness of diseases, conditions, and life stages that differently, disproportionately, or exclusively affect women; and promoting policies that could positively shape health outcomes for women. Over its more than 30-year history, SWHR has been advancing women’s health through its core functions of science, policy, and education.

SWHR President and CEO Kathryn Godburn Schubert was profiled in the fall 2024 issue of Association for Women in Science in a piece titled "The Suffragist for Gender Equity in Health-Care Research". "Health and public policy experts still have major knowledge gaps, for example, for many persistently idiopathic conditions that women face but which some medical professionals have long treated dismissively," Schubert says in the interview. Dr. Irene Aninye represented the Society for Women’s Health Research at HLTH USA this fall. Dr. Aninye joined ECHAlliance - The Global Health Connector for a panel titled “Women’s Health – Pelvic Power: Revolutionizing Women’s Health from the Inside Out.” Her presentation covered #endometriosis, #UterineFibroids, and other gynecologic diseases that have significant impacts on women’s health. “Reducing the stigma surrounding women’s pelvic and gynecologic health requires education all around, so that researchers, health care providers, and policymakers have a true understanding of the impact these diseases have on a woman’s health. We must give voice and a face to the women we are charged to serve, so they can know that they are not alone and their individual health is valued by the societies in which they live,” she said at the event. Women’s health was a highlighted focus at #HLTH this year, with special remarks delivered by Dr. Jill Biden, Chelsea Clinton, and Halle Berry during the week. #WomensHealthResearch

SWHR presents the Gender Gap Graveyard! A spooky place where we hope to see all gender health gaps go to disappear. Gender health gaps like: > High maternal mortality rates in the U.S. > 90% of lupus patients are women, but there is no cure > Only 11% of NIH funding goes towards women's health > 1 in 5 women die from heart disease > The annual care costs for Alzheimer's disease is $360 billion > Stigma around menopause and midlife > A 7 year diagnostic delay for endometriosis What gender health gaps do you want to see disappear? Nothing is spookier than underfunding women's health! Join SWHR this #Halloween in our efforts to make women's health mainstream at swhr.org/donate
