Once, after a one-hour job interview, the candidate asked: “Just one hour? So, that means a rejection?" The answer was "no". We value both our and others' time, so we make our interviews as concise and informative as possible. We are not going to talk about the best way to do job interviews. We just share our way of doing them. The negotiation process may vary slightly depending on the project, the vacancy, and the wishes of the client and the team. Still, the usual process is the following: 1. A short call or correspondence via messenger with HR on basic organizational issues. - We announce the main stages of the process. - We answer the questions that you want to discuss before the interview. - We set an interview time and method of communication. Usually, it is done online. 2. Online interview with Software Country technical specialists (usually, it is 1 hour, sometimes 1,5-2 hours). - A short introduction (10-15 minutes) with HR — organizational and other general questions, - The technical part of the interview is conducted by the delivery manager and technical lead. - During this time, we’ll talk about everything: whether you have the necessary knowledge and skills; about your motivation and personal qualities; and so on. - We will answer your questions. 3. (depending on the client's preferences) Test task (1-1,5 hours). Eg, it can be live coding. 4. Presentation of the project (0,5 hours). - Our manager will tell you about the project (content, tasks, technologies, development process organization) and answer your questions. 5. (depending on the client's preferences) Online interview with the client's representatives (0,5 hours). 6. Offer or feedback.

Any healthcare data needs to be converted to a common format before it can be used for analysis. The OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) helps to organise disparate data sources into the same relational database design. However, the extract, transform and load (ETL) process can be difficult and usually requires strong technical knowledge and domain expertise. Perseus is a software solution that simplifies CDM conversion by providing a flexible and easy-to-use visual environment. You don't need to have strong technical knowledge to convert your data to the OMOP format. Perform required transformations with a comprehensible 3-step process: pre-processing, mapping and conversion.

Yet another area for applying #AI in #healthcare is using natural language processing (#NLP) for dealing with huge amounts of text data. It can be used for making a summary of research results or clinical notes as well as for defining problems needing special attention. As the amount of data in healthcare is skyrocketing (patient records, clinical research, pharmacovigilance safety databases, different reporting, etc.), sometimes it is hardly possible to use it in a feasible time frame without help of machine learning. Here is an example of a project we made in this area: a solution for analyzing free text reports created during clinical research site audits to discover present and emerging issues. The solution helps non-technical users discover patterns in large amounts of textual data and thus facilitates identifying the issues needing action. Pharmaceutical research is among our core areas of expertise: sometimes our software engineers are even indicated as co-authors of publications in scientific journals! Here is a recent example: our software engineer Andrey Gedich has been working on machine learning applications in pharmaceutical research for our client, a major pharmaceutical company. He is among co-authors of an article describing a BERT language model trained to predict reaction yields, i.e. how much products a reaction will form compared to theoretical predicted quantity. The aim of the solution is to reduce number of unsuccessful attempts to get a predicted medical substance in laboratory. The authors proved that the model works significantly better than existing state-of-the-art models and thus can reduce the total number of non-productive reactions by at least 34%. Link to the article: https://lnkd.in/d32Uf62e This example also shows that long-term outsourcing relationship model (that we adhere to) allows working in very complex knowledge domains. #lifesciences #biotech #pharmaindustry #healthcareInnovation #pharmatech

With vast amounts of data generated in healthcare, the researchers have unprecedented opportunities for generating new knowledge about human health and treatments. On the other hand, analysis of data gathered from different information sources can be challenging due to differences in data standards. Converting data into a unified format can be time-consuming and costly. Right now, we are #hiring an #ETL Developer proficient in .NET and #SQL whose role will involve creating and maintaining ETL processes to move data between systems in a clinical research area, adhering to OMOP CDM standards. You will work closely with a team to understand requirements, write SQL queries, and ensure data quality. Troubleshooting and optimizing processes will also be part of your responsibilities. Data visualization goes hand-in-hand with #bigData, data analysis and #machineLearning trends, as massive amounts of data can be difficult to comprehend and explain. That is why it is an important part of many projects we are realizing for our clients. Right now, we are #hiring a back-end developer (#Python, C#) for a project comprising support and development of #Spotfire modules written in #IronPython. There is a possibility that modules will be migrated from IronPython to C#.
