Brian Hayden of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has worked in the solar industry since 2009. In 2022, he finally realized his goal of going solar, thanks to the Solarize Ann Arbor campaign and a 30% federal tax credit. Today, Brian generates his own clean energy and protects himself against rising utility costs. He's even planning further electrification of his home, including an EV and hybrid heat pump. “It’s an exciting time to own your power source, especially when it’s clean energy. The investment has been worth it in every way,” he shares. For those considering solar, Brian recommends leveraging local and federal incentives and seeking advice from local experts. Yesterday, SUN Puerto Rico Program Director David Ortiz helped lead a press conference in front of the federal court in San Juan. Along with fellow climate leaders, David requested that SUN and the Sierra Club be considered interveners in the FOMB’s lawsuit to amend or cancel Law 10. If successful, the suit will severely restrict net metering through 2030. The event was a total success, and we're very grateful to all those who made it possible!
