  • ⛳️ It was a great day for a great cause at the South Central Health Care Foundation Holston Memorial Golf Tournament! This tournament, which began as a Doctor’s Day Tournament in 1985, has evolved throughout recent years into a philanthropic effort to support SCRMC’s nonprofit, The South Central Health Care Foundation. This yearly fundraiser, in conjunction with other efforts, helps enable the foundation to continue to offer patient screenings, health education opportunities and patient benevolence efforts to members of the community. We are already teeing up for next year's tournament! 🏌️ Read more about the SCRMC Holston Memorial Golf Tournament here: https://lnkd.in/gHBKjSVC

  • Over the past few weeks, SCRMC has welcomed several groups of nursing students from Jones College, William Carey University and The University of Southern Mississippi to the main campus for their clinical rotations; and their presence on campus was acknowledged and celebrated in a big way. Each group was greeted by directors from most departments at SCRMC and then treated to thoughtful meals and snacks. Upon their arrival, SCRMC treated each group of students to a hearty breakfast of pancakes and parfaits to fuel them for a productive day of hands-on learning in various hospital departments; and then to close the day the students were given a sweet treat to celebrate a hard day's work. SCRMC excited to support their growth and look forward to the valuable contributions they will make on campus at SCRMC this semester! Please continue to offer hospitality and words of encouragement to these students.

  • SCRMC's Radiology Department kicked off the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month by celebrating the receival of the American College of Radiation Gold Seal Accreditation and their FDA accreditation. These accreditations are given to facilities that meet certain image quality and patient satisfaction standards. SCRMC's receival of these certifications means that they are licensed, accredited and permitted to continue facilitating mammogram scans at SCRMC. Reminder: Sign up for your yearly mammogram! Early detection saves lives.

  • September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to one of the leading causes of death in the United States. In 2022 alone, over 49,000 lives were lost to suicide-approximately one death every 11 minutes. However, this number doesn't include the many more who contemplate or attempt suicide. Every community is impacted by depression and suicidality, highlighting the need for awareness and action. South Central Behavioral Health provides individual and family counseling through qualified healthcare providers. Mental healthcare for those ages 6 and up is served through the psychiatric clinic that offers a caring staff of professionals, a comfortable environment and private sessions. Please call 601-426-9614 to schedule an appointment. Read more at https://wp.me/p7ETA0-8hc.
