Meet David Stubbs, RN in our Emergency Department. David is a third generation nurse. He says Merit Health Wesley is his home because he likes the size of our hospital. He works the night shift and knows "just about" everyone else who works the night shift...from the ER to the lab to radiology to the floor nurses to environmental services. David is our very first DAISY Award Winner for Extraordinary Nurses! His nominee wrote: My mother was in the emergency room in excruciating pain due to gallstones. David was not her nurse and was not assigned to her but when he noticed how much pain she was in, he took it upon himself to go ahead and put an IV in for her so that the medical team could get her pain medicine started quickly and easily. It’s the little things like this that make a world of difference when you’re in a situation such as hers. David, a very big congratulations on your recognition!
