Advancing Wind Energy In the Southeast To Bring Economic Benefit to Residents, Utilities, and Industry
About us
The mission of the Southeastern Wind Coalition is to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in ways that result in net economic benefits to industry, utilities, and residents of the Southeast. The Coalition takes an objective, transparent, data-driven, and economically focused approach to advance the industry and inform policy discussions while working closely with utilities via a Utility Advisory Group. In 2014, the Coalition was selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to lead the Southeast Wind Energy Resource Center. Working with our university partners, we serve as a resource to decision makers for objective, fact-based information on wind energy. Our key members include industry (e.g. manufacturers, utilities, suppliers, developers, consultants, service providers), appropriate government bodies (economic developers, commerce departments, energy offices), academic and research institutions, and other non-profit groups that share our objectives. The Coalition is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

SEWC’s Steph Grasmick recently wrote an article about her experience touring Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) farm. 🌊 Located 27 miles off Virginia’s coast, the two towering turbines—taller than the Washington Monument—are just the beginning of what will soon power 660,000 homes with clean energy. 🌬️ In the article, Steph shares her firsthand insights after speaking with Dominion Energy’s John Larson about the progress of the project and its potential to reshape the region’s energy landscape. Witnessing the scale of these turbines up close was a powerful reminder of the innovations driving the future of renewable energy. Check out Steph’s article to learn more about CVOW’s impact on clean energy and the local economy: https://bit.ly/48omFxK #WindEnergy #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #CVOW #CleanEnergy #SEWC
