California may be one of the states that is friendliest to people in wheelchairs, but that doesn’t mean that getting around cities like San Francisco or Los Angeles is easy. For many, every day transit trips can be filled with disrespectful straphangers, unexpected, expensive delays, and even dangerous falls. Lyft has a feature that allows riders to specifically request a vehicle that accommodates a fixed-frame wheelchair, available in 9 U.S. cities. And for the month of December, we're offering $20,000 in Lyft Rideshare credits to California nonprofit organizations, like Southern California Resource Services for Independent Living, which will disseminate them to wheelchair users in SF and LA counties.
