⚠️ Update on Estimated Restoration Times ⚠️ As of Saturday evening, Georgia Power has restored power to 520,000+ customers following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. Our crews continue to navigate treacherous conditions including extensive tree damage, widespread flooding and many road closures. As the first full day of restoration progressed today, we have determined that Hurricane Helene was the most destructive hurricane in Georgia Power history, damaging infrastructure across the state. We also understand the importance of Estimated Restoration Times (ERTs) for you and your families - we have been working as quickly as possible to generate timelines and keep you informed. These ERTs are not a guess, but represent the most accurate estimate that we can make based on our in the field assessments. We will make every effort to beat these estimates and return power sooner than expected. New ERTs are now available for areas including Athens, Augusta, Brunswick, Clayton, Cornelia, Dublin, Gainesville, Hartwell, Hinesville, Macon, Madison, Milledgeville, Savannah, Springfield, Statesboro, Thomson, Tifton, Valdosta, Vidalia, Waycross and Waynesboro. ERTs represent the company’s expectation for 95% power restoration in the specified area. As we anticipated and announced before the arrival of the storm, restoration efforts will take multiple days into this next week. We know extended outages are inconvenient, and we truly appreciate your understanding as thousands of our team members work around the clock. In the aftermath of #HurricaneHelene, we are all working together to safely rebuild and restore our communities. As clean-up and repair efforts continue to be underway, Atlanta Gas Light crews are responding as quickly and safely as possible and prioritizing responding to any leak calls or emergencies. If you suspect a natural gas leak call 911 or the Atlanta Gas Light 24-hour emergency phone line at 877-427-4321 from a safe location. Do not operate any machinery or equipment that might cause a spark or create an open flame.

Last week, we had the honor of hosting the Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association (AVVBA) at #PlantVogtle. This inspiring group of veterans, dedicated to promoting patriotism and supporting their community, was eager to learn more about Vogtle and the advancements in nuclear energy. Founded in 1981, the AVVBA honors those who served in the Vietnam War and supports veterans through initiatives like scholarships for returning students. One visitor, Carl 'Skip' Bell, expressed his gratitude for the brilliant minds and unwavering dedication that make Plant Vogtle a reality. Water is pumped through more than 100 miles of piping throughout Units 3 & 4 and the cloud that you see rising from the cooling towers is excess water vapor! Did you know? A single 1/2 inch Uranium Nuclear Fuel Pellet creates as much energy as: 149 gallons of oil 17,000 ft3 of natural gas 2,000 lbs of coal ore. Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 are the first newly constructed nuclear units to be built in the United States in more than 30 years. America's newest nuclear reactors will provide clean, safe, reliable and affordable energy for millions of Georgians for many many years to come. Got to do another fun flyover of Southern Nuclear’s Plant Vogtle today on the way back from my daughter’s birthday trip to Hilton Head Island. Cool to see the water vapor of all 4 reactors coming out at once. Our course even flew us directly over Units 1 and 2 and had a great view of 3 and 4 off the left wing. Thanks, as always, to my excellent pilot Henry Bolen - MBA, CSP, ASP, CIT, RRPT, PMP, CM!
