This weekend, we partnered with Greater Good Charities and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to conduct an emergency airlift of 145 shelter dogs and cats out of the destruction of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This transport helps make room for the influx of injured or displaced animals that have arrived due to the hurricanes. Earlier, we also worked with Greater Good Charities to deliver 6,000 pounds of humanitarian aid packs with shampoo, hygiene products, clothing, and more to displaced and impacted families. Once we safely landed, Captain Matt decided to adopt Avery, one of the kittens, and take her home. He said it was an honor to work the flight and to make sure there was one more empty cage in the animal shelters. The plane flew from South Carolina to Milwaukee where 8 different shelters were waiting with open arms to welcome these puppies and kittens and find them deserving forever homes. Thank you to all our Employees and partners who volunteered their time to put their Hearts in action and help these sweet shelter pets get a second chance at life. #SouthwestHeart

In honor of the big rivalry game this weekend, we partnered with Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. and the Southeastern Conference to bring back our legendary plane pull! Pullers from Texas and Oklahoma laced up their shoes and put on their game faces for the ultimate test of strength—which team could pull a 98,000 Southwest plane the fastest. Both teams left it all out on the “field”, but Texas left victorious! Who are you rooting for this weekend?!

For the 20th annual ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Higher Education Travel Award, Southwest has awarded airline tickets to 185 deserving students! Southwest Airlines and Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) founded this program in 2004 to help students stay connected with their families and communities while pursuing higher education far away from home. We have had the honor of partnering with Kidd's Kids since 2006 to send children and their families facing life-altering conditions to the Happiest Place on Earth for an all-expenses paid trip. We provide a charter aircraft for the trip, and our Employees who crew the flight volunteer their time.
