Employ Different Thinking

About us

Specialisterne USA is a non-profit that works with organizations to help them integrate more neurodiversity into their workforce. We provide recruitment, staffing solutions, and management support to businesses interested in diversifying and expanding their talent pools to include those who think and problem-solve differently. We recognize that many neurodivergent people face barriers to accessing and maintaining meaningful employment. Our recruitment, onboarding, and management processes are different and designed to avoid these barriers. The result is that employees’ greatest strengths can emerge, setting the tone for exceptional detail, problem-solving, and innovation. We also carry out outreach and public education. Specialisterne USA is part of an international organization founded in 2004 and now operates in thirteen different countries with a global goal to enable one million jobs. Our vision is that employers will recognize the value of competency-based hiring and move toward a model that is inclusive and accessible for all people. To find out more about working with Specialisterne, email contact.usa@specialisterne.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

This October, we celebrated National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), a national campaign through the U.S. Department of Labor, which raises awareness about the importance of including people with disabilities in the workplace. Although NDEAM is an event specific to the U.S., Specialisterne Global decided to celebrate it in every country where we operate! The values promoted by NDEAM resonate deeply with our mission: to support the employment inclusion of neurodivergent individuals and help more people find meaningful roles at companies that value diversity. Creating environments where differences are valued, where neurodivergent people can work free of obstacles, and with the necessary support, promotes a change that brings both individual and collective benefits. Read about the shared campaign and some results from a questionnaire we asked our talent pools across the globe! #NDEAM #EmployDifferentThinking

To raise awareness and understanding of the employment experiences of neurodivergent individuals, we asked neurodivergent job seekers around the world, “What does a good job look like to you?” Read about what they shared here.   #EmployDifferentThinking #NDEAM

Is neurodivergence a disability? A superpower? Or something in between? The answer is complicated. As we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month #NDEAM and consider how neuro-inclusion aligns with it, it’s time to untangle this ongoing debate.
