CARB to Host Workshop for Aftermarket EO Procedure Revision 📈 SEMA Garage is strongly recommending members participate in an upcoming virtual workshop hosted by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) on September 17, 2024. Scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PDT, the online event will highlight the organization's changes to the procedures for obtaining an Executive Order (EO) for exemptions from the California Vehicle Code prohibitions against modifications. CARB has prepared changes to the procedures with the intention of obtaining CARB Board approval in the first half of 2025. The organization is hosting the upcoming webinar in order to ensure that the process will go smoothly and to engage with those affected by the proposed revisions. The event will offer participants in the workshop an opportunity to hear the proposed changes and provide comments. I’m very proud of our ongoing effort to spread the word on the repercussions of EV mandates and why governments must remain technology-neutral in their pursuit of lowering carbon emissions. Allowing innovators to innovate will help us achieve lower emissions faster while protecting consumer choice. SEMA recently brought this message to the EPA, where our CEO Mike Spagnola along with SEMA members Rick Albertini from Phenix Enterprises, Inc., and Ben Winter Ben Winter of Transfer Flow each testified in opposition to EPA granting the state of California a waiver to implement its Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation. Using this waiver, California would ban the sale of medium- and heavy-duty internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The fallout, if California has its way: companies’ property would be devalued, businesses would pay higher prices to have their products delivered, and consumers would shoulder the costs of new zero-emission trucks that the ACF regulation would mandate.
