Founded in 1988, SPF:a is a Los Angeles-based architecture firm specializing in clients and projects that require a high level of design sensitivity, technical expertise, and hands-on principal involvement. Our studio, led by Zoltan E. Pali, FAIA and Judit M. Fekete-Pali, LEED, houses an award-winning design team, and one of the world’s most accomplished technical documentation workshops. A team currently 25 individuals strong, our capabilities include all phases of project development, from research and conceptual design to schematics, design development, construction documents, bidding, negotiations, and contract administration. SPF:a’s experience in shepherding large, complex projects gives us the knowledge base and operational systems needed to manage projects that demand leadership that is collaborative in nature.

Since the start of construction on the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences’ “Bezdek Center for the Performing Arts,” the project is already making headlines in the community! Featured in Santa Monica Mirror, this state-of-the-art facility is set to open in early 2026. The Bezdek Center will boast a 650-seat auditorium, a 100-person recital hall, and multiple spaces for filmmaking, rehearsals, and music instruction. Last week we held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles and the renovation improvement project for its home in Downtown Los Angeles. Our design will modify the existing 1960s building and create a new 299-seat live performing arts theater and community center. The 22,000 SF facility will also be able to function as a multimedia rental studio. We are thrilled to commence construction and look forward to bringing this vision to life.
