Embracing natural light and views, The Press' design interventions prioritize a connection with the environment. Located apart from the main cluster of buildings within the Press Adaptive Re-Use campus, the R&D building seamlessly integrates with the landscape. Be sure to snatch up The New York Times' recent #TMagazine to see our featured House in Kamakura. The project is the firm’s first foray into Japan; an ode to #californiamodernism and a seaside retreat for Creative Director of #Kenzo, Nigo. The home integrates the ocean into the spaces through expansive sliding doors and a custom bug screen that illuminate Nigo’s furniture collection within. Sometimes a "Landscape Meeting" (a.k.a. golf outing) requires a landscape architect, a world-renowned architect, and a couple of award-winning builders. HENSEL PHELPS appreciates the partnership between Ehrlich Yanai Rhee Chaney Architects and SWA, and a great time hitting the links!

The Press, located in Costa Mesa, CA, featuring intricate metalwork, carefully crafted by skilled artisans, forms a delicate balance between openness and privacy. As sunlight filters through the patterns, it casts intriguing shadows, painting a dynamic tapestry of light and shade. These metal screens not only enhance the building's aesthetics but also serve a practical purpose. They provide protection from the elements while allowing a gentle breeze to flow through, creating a comfortable and inviting environment. Every step you take beneath these stunning metal screens is a journey into the world of design and innovation.
