At SRD, we proudly support the efforts of our military spouse attorneys, many of whom are active members of the Military Spouse JD Network. Thanks to the advocacy of the MSJDN and leaders like Nicolle Vasquez Del Favero and Samantha Arrington Sliney, the American Bar Association has passed a resolution urging state bar associations to adopt fairer and more efficient licensing policies for military spouses. This resolution aims to remove unnecessary supervision requirements and streamline the licensing process, offering much-needed relief to military families. We commend these efforts and stand with the MSJDN in advocating for meaningful change to support our dedicated military spouse attorneys. . . . https://lnkd.in/g6dVF6Vs

Tomorrow is Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Over 90% of military spouses are women, facing unemployment rates much higher than the national average. My recent article for Forbes highlights the urgent need for support and opportunities for these spouses, who often bear the effects of frequent relocations and financial instability. By prioritizing military spouse employment, businesses can tap into a rich pool of talent and experience that has often been overlooked. Military spouses possess a unique set of skills, including adaptability, resilience, and the ability to thrive in dynamic environments. By recognizing and leveraging these attributes, businesses can enhance their workforce and drive innovation and diversity within their organizations. . . .
