St. Bernards Medical Center has earned Arkansas’ first “Pediatric Ready” status for emergency care provided at non-pediatric hospitals, achieving “Gold Tier Recognition” from the Arkansas Department of Health. Eight out of ten children come to a generic emergency department instead of a specialized, pediatric emergency department to receive care. With the closest pediatric hospitals being 1-2 hours away, it was important to our team to train every staff member in the specialized care pediatric patients need. In addition to advanced training, our emergency department team has improved the pediatric patient experience by including transport wagons and medical procedure demonstrations whenever possible. Thank you to our emergency department team members for your hard work to make our emergency department the gold standard in pediatric care!

Last week we celebrated the newly awarded Heart and Stroke Award Recognitions from the American Heart Association. These awards represent the hard work and many valuable team members who provide gold-standard care to our patients daily. As a health system, we are proud to have maintained our status as STEMI Receiving Gold Plus for 10 years and NSTEMI Gold for 5 years. Congratulations to Dr. Devi Nair and the entire team!
We are beyond thrilled with the performance of Atraverse Medical, Inc. HOTWIRE in our First in Human cases. This innovative RF wire, compatible with any sheath, is democratizing left atrial access. We successfully completed multiple cases, navigating a wide range of workflows and anatomies, including several challenging scenarios with thick septums, previously failed transseptals, and prior septal closures. It was an incredible day!!! Arrhythmia Research Group #epeeps St. Bernards Healthcare Usman Siddiqui Andrea Natale Mark Metzl Matthew Price bradley knight Katie Reddy

Redesigning and launching our new website was always about improving the #patientexperience and the community’s access to health services. Thank you Geonetric for helping us make it happen.
Our #25thAnniversary celebration continues with a spotlight on St. Bernards Healthcare, an Arkansas-based health system that recently partnered with Geonetric to revamp its outdated website with a fresh design, streamlined content, and more effective services pages. Since launching in 2023 the site has seen a 55% increase in views, with visitors spending 49% more time on its services pages. "It was a needed change within our organization, and we can tell the benefits of it today through our analytics across the board." While most celebrated the nation’s birthday last week, we also celebrated one of our own. For 124 years, our mission has been to provide Christ-like healing to the community. Every year on July 5, we celebrate the community, volunteers and team members that have been part of our story and continue to be part of our mission. St. Bernards General Surgeon @Willie Harper, M.D. completed the hospital’s first da Vinci 5 procedure, a gastric bypass surgery. This procedure marks the first surgery in Arkansas using the Intuitive da Vinci 5® surgical system and the first bariatric surgery using the da Vinci 5 in the mid-south. This new robot specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures for urology, gynecology, thoracic and general surgeries. Since St. Bernards began a partnership with Intuitive in 2008, its surgeons have performed more than 7,500 surgical procedures using previous da Vinci iterations. Building upon 16 years of successful robotic surgeries at St. Bernards, this new, highly-advanced surgical robot will improve outcomes for patients and give doctors better insights and accuracy. The da Vinci 5 system marks the ninth robotic surgical system at St. Bernards Medical Center, the most for a hospital in Arkansas.
