The Department's Mobile Nursing team stopped by Maxi's Food & Spirit Barn with Callie Cares, offering Tdap immunizations (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis, a.k.a. whooping cough). Anyone who spends time around your baby or children should get their Tdap booster (every 10 years). Even our Communications Specialist got his booster today, as he spends quite a bit of time with his 9-month-old niece. On Wednesday, we joined CareSource along with 25 other organizations at the St. Joe County Public Library for Bumps and Babies. The goal was to close gaps in care and provide resources to moms and babies in St. Joseph County. Our nursing unit provided TDaP immunizations, and our lead poisoning prevention team screened children for lead and scheduled home lead tests for residents. Our team provided over 30 immunizations and almost 30 lead testing kits during the Spring Community Health Fair at OneRoof Southeast - Southeast Neighborhood Center. South Bend Fire Dept REAL Services, Inc. United Way of St. Joseph County El Campito Indiana Health Centers, Inc. If you missed this event, we have many immunization clinics on the horizon, including April 17 from 12-2 pm at the St. Joe County Public Library.
