Since November, nearly 30,000 St. Louisans and out-of-towners have seen Judy Garland's iconic red dress from "Meet Me in St. Louis" on display at the Missouri Historical Society! And for the first time in 80 years, the dress was reunited with the coat Garland wears during the film's Christmas scenes. For St. Louisans especially, it's easy to forget just how big a role "Meet Me in St. Louis" played in introducing the 1904 World's Fair and 20th century St. Louis to America when it was released in 1944. Though the dress and coat will come off display this week, I can't think of a better way to have celebrated our first holiday season with our groundbreaking new 1904 World's Fair exhibit. ➡️ Read more about Garland's dress and coat from St. Louis Magazine: https://lnkd.in/ghASW4xE ➡️ Read more about our 1904 World's Fair exhibit in The New York Times: https://lnkd.in/gc8RbDSA
