You met Chris Harris a few weeks ago, and we are so excited to announce that he has been promote to our Director of Preconstruction! Chris has been a valuable member of the Staples Construction team since he began in July 2011. Over the past thirteen years, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to the organization's goals and values. Chris has played an integral role in the budgeting, estimating, and procurement of hundreds of projects during his tenure. His willingness to constantly grow in his position coupled with his overall depth of knowledge across all of Staples target markets will provide strong leadership of the Preconstruction Department well into the future.

Mesa opened their tiny home community in Ventura County to young adults experiencing homelessness on a 10-acre former orange orchard. Each home is roughly 270 square feet and has a full kitchen, bathroom and living area with a lofted bedroom. State, County, and private philanthropy all came together to fund this community, including nearly $4 Million from Project Homekey. In Ventura County, there are 300-400 young adults experiencing homelessness. This is an important step towards alleviate some of their hardships. Each house is equipped with a laptop and wifi and all young adults have access to services such as education and job training. Mesa plans on partnering with other organizations across southern California to expand their support of young adults experiencing homelessness.

Meet Ed Morlan, a seasoned project superintendent at Staples Construction. For May, we are proud to recognize Adrian for his photo of the Bubbling Springs Park civil grading, Tyler for his photo of custom Poppy artwork installed at a Fallen Heroes Memorial, Phil for his photo of cement siding replacement, and Lori for her photo of the Vista Campanario parking structure deck concrete pour.

Meet Adrian, Staples Construction's Scheduling Manager. With over a decade of experience, Adrian is the scheduling backbone of every project we execute. His meticulous planning, expertise, and knack for problem-solving make him an invaluable asset to the team. Working with him is a guarantee of quality and excellence, giving our clients the peace of mind they deserve.

Tatiana, a Staples Construction Project Engineer, has interpersonal skills, organizational talents, and the patience for attention to detail that are unparalleled. Her entire team can depend on her to know every client conversation and project detail, no matter how small. Working with her makes the project go smoother. In addition to being amazing at her work, her positive attitude makes her an absolute delight to be around.

It's about being a problem solver and requires a deep understanding of the industry, the market, and the client's needs. He is the bridge between the architects, engineers, and contracting team at the start of a project, balancing the creative vision with practical limitations. His expertise and dedication ensure projects achieve the clients' dreams while being realistic.

Our next Northern California Superintendent is a true representation of what it means to be a Californian. Spending time outside, whether on the job or during his free time, is an absolute must as often as possible. His respect for the natural environment is reflected in the courtesy and appreciation he gives to every individual on his job site and every piece of material needed in his daily work.

One of Staples' rockstar Superintendents in Northern California, David is truly a force to be reckoned with. He gathers inspiration from everything around him, soaking up knowledge and applying it in new and unexpected ways. The care he takes in addressing the smallest details is unparalleled.

The first of Staples' Superintendents to be featured, Chris's incredible amount of knowledge and expertise is awe-inspiring. Working on a 100+year old building renovation, he uncovered one of his most interesting site discoveries - the original hand-drawn building plans that had perfectly defined dimensions and detailing.
