State Farm independent contractor agent Allison Bash began her career journey as an intern in her grandfather's agent office. “While my original plan was to spend quality time with my grandfather and fulfill my college requirements, I unexpectedly discovered a love I didn't know existed. As I learned my grandfather’s work and witnessed his ability to connect with anyone who walked through his door, the idea of pursuing a career as a State Farm agent started to intrigue me.” Following her grandfather’s 53 years of dedicated service to the community, Allison was selected to fill the State Farm agent opportunity that became available when he retired. “I strive to emulate the values that my grandfather imparted into my own agent office. If you're unsure if this career is right for you, reflect on these values – do you enjoy helping others, building and encouraging a team, growing relationships with customers and making a difference in your community? If you can answer yes to those questions, then the State Farm agent opportunity is for you." Learn more about becoming a State Farm independent contractor agent: https://lnkd.in/giWjAvk9

"It is important to recognize the valuable contributions that people with disabilities bring to the workplace."   October is Disability Employment Awareness Month. Liz, Administrative Services Manager, highlights the benefit of creating an environment that allows individuals with disabilities to thrive.   “Employees needing support for disabilities doesn’t detract from the value they contribute to the workplace.   "It’s important to keep in mind that a person’s lived experience with a disability helps them bring a different perspective and unique strengths."   Liz manages a condition that often impacts her mobility, dexterity, and strength.    "My dynamic disabilities are invisible to others and fluctuate on a daily basis. As a result, I readily adapt to changes and approach problem-solving creatively."   Throughout her tenure, Liz has been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion. She takes pride in her career and the significant impacts she has made along the way.   "Despite my unpredictable challenges, I am both proud and thankful for a successful 26-year career and the ability to make a difference for others as a leader at a Fortune 50 company."
