The Gold Standard in Critical Care 🎖️ Beacon Award Recognizes Top-Tier ICU Nursing 🩺 Our dedicated team of nurses in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center have been honored the National Beacon Gold Award by the AACN (American Association of Critical-Care Nurses)! The prestigious three-year recognition underscores the team’s success in improving patient outcomes and satisfaction through dedicated, evidence-based care, and highlights the ICU team’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. Intensive care patients are among the sickest in the hospital, with conditions such as pneumonia, renal failure, metabolic disorders, diabetic coma, stroke, or cancer patients not responding to treatment. The award reflects the unit’s excellence in leadership, staffing, communication, and patient care processes, serving as a national model of critical care excellence.
