As we proudly mark a decade of service, what has surprised, and often humbled, me the most is the amount of sheer talent of the SCT community. Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a leader whose unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and service transformed the world. Established November 2, 1983, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day honors his transformative contributions to civil rights and the Nation. In 1994, it became the first federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service, encouraging us all to reflect and take action to create a more just and equitable society. Dr. King’s dedication to lifting up people, fostering inclusion, and driving meaningful change reminds us of the importance of service and integrity in everything we do. His vision challenges us to not only dream of a better future but to actively work toward making it a reality for all.
