Company visits to circular pioneers/frontrunners: • VFI – Zero-waste oil production using side streams for biogas. • Berglandmilch – Austria’s largest dairy, integrating wastewater recovery and energy generation. • FeldOase – Small-scale aquaponics for local, sustainable fish production.   Peer learning & collaboration: • Circularity World Café • Interactive workshop with Circularity Compass tool • Exchange between project partners and stakeholders.   🧭 Hosted in collaboration with Business Upper Austria - OÖ. Did you know? 💡   Nearly half of all new city buses in the EU were zero-emission in 2024! 🚌⚡ This rapid shift is driven by strong regulations, city-level policies, and a clear market signal that diesel is on its way out.   At this pace, all new city buses could be zero-emission by 2027, bringing cleaner air and quieter streets to European cities. 🌱🚍   Some countries are leading the way—the Netherlands, Finland, and Iceland already have 100% electric city bus sales, while Spain is now the top major market. However, a few countries are still lagging behind, showing the need for continued action.   OPTI-UP is part of this transformation. In Paks, the entire bus fleet is already electrified. In the first months of the project we worked on analysing the situation at a national level to gain a better understanding of the situation in the various regions.
